Too many houses, too many offers, and too many tears

    Our home buying experience has been nothing like what you see on HGTV or TLC. This has been heartbreak after heartbreak and let down after let down. Ten plus offers later and twenty homes later we just might almost have our first home. "Almost?" you say.... Yes almost, I am not getting excited, I am not planning where I want to put things, and I am most certainly not planning what great changes we could do to it to make it ours. It seems that doing those things has jinxed us with all of our previous offers. I am so ready We are so ready to be able to call a house our home. So please cross your fingers for us, we really don't want to go into another dilapidated, bates hotel looking, distressed house.

So before I start in about the home buying, loving and fixing, I think you all should know who we are.
    
     We are two fun lovin, sun lovin Floridians who have lived together in apartments for three years now and have finally decided to buy a place of our own. I (Ashton) am an education major and a bartender and my boyfriend (Nick) works in construction and helps run a family liquor store. We have two adorable french bulldogs, Roxy and Rita who need a yard to play in instead of a tiny apartment, so here goes our first blog about us, them, and our soon to be house.
